Friday 10th April

This is the start of the Lion's rally, everyone who was coming to the rally made their own way to the rally site. Despite the weather we pitched up tents, had a chat to others then it was on to the marquee to listen to the bands and meet up with friends from other Centres. Music really great, a laugh to see a foam cannon, also plenty stalls to have a browse round and many food stalls for the hungry.

Back to the music and bands. The booze was at a reasonable price even the Yorkies paid so there was no "OWMUCH" mentioned here!!!! As the night flowed on the atmosphere was brilliant, with dancing, more booze till you drop and those who wanted to carry on there was a late night disco in another tent - those who could not make it was back to your tent to sleep it off for the next day.

Saturday 11th April

Woke up to a cold morning but that didn't dampen the day, everyone did their own thing a ride out, shopping, there was even a bus put on for those who wanted to go to Otley and back. Wow. and for the rest, it was round your tent chatting and those who wanted to have a drink and listen to the music to get them in the mood.

Bike judges were walking around the campsite judging bikes, and Bob from Yorkshire Trikes put on a show.

In the evening some more brilliant bands on again, half way through the night awards were given out by a special guest star Steve Halliwell AKA Zac Dingle from Emmerdale Farm. Those who were lucky had a photo taken with him for "Yorkies Meet The Stars" article. Tina from Centre 8 won "Best Paint Job" - brilliant!

On to what we like doing best, boozing, dancing music and the foam cannon. Even Ivan and his family turned up to hear the bands.

Centre 8 were trying to poach some riders from Centre 5 (soz guys our loyalty lies with our Tez) as the night worn on a good atmosphere right to the end.

Sunday 12th April

Another day can you keep going cause we can!!!! Midday silly games were played, brilliant for us spectators who watched, two injuries but not life threatening, then it was off to do your own thing. Some actually went home today, a group from Centre 8 went to Squires then to a friends house for a shower.

Late in the afternoon there was a hypnotist entertaining the crowd, who was hilarious. then more band disco booze and yes the foam cannon into the early hours.

Monday 13th April

Time to pack up and say our goodbyes with or without a thick head to start your journey home with very good weather. So until the next time!

Thanks to Terry, SUe, Maggie, Chris and Don who kept an eye and ears for the noise and The East Leeds Lions for a great weekend not to mention Paul who came for a visit Sunday evening.

Cheers

Marie and Steve
