Sad News In The Yorkies

Hello - it is with sadness that I have to inform all members of the tragic motorcycle accident that took the life of our good friend Paul Stubley - always known as "Paul the Trike" his accident occurred on Thursday 29th October near to his home in Barnsley.

I have been in touch with his family and especially Janet his wife and we will let all members know of the funeral arrangements, as we know of them.

I'm sure you will join me in sending our deepest condolences to all of Paul's family, and with the thought that we will assist wherever possible.

Events Coming Up

Hi all,

Received news of items that might be of interest to members:

This weekend a group of Yorkies are going to join the C8 Haloween party - it's at Burntwood Rugby Club, Chasetown, Nr Lichfield WS7 3PH. It will cost you just £5 for the Saturday night bash which includes band and D.J. Camping is available from Friday night or there are good B and B's very close.

And in November.......

Please accept this invitation to take part in our upcoming shoe box collection for British troops out in Afghanistan and to personnel who are recuperating at hospitals in Birmingham from injuries sustained whilst fighting.

This event is being organised by The Idle Trike & Bike Club, based in Idle in Bradford, with a little help from ourselves, The White Rose MCC.

So what's it all about then???

The aim of this project is to collect as many donated shoe boxes full of goodies as is possible, so that they can be sent out to the boys and girls fighting out in Afghanistan.

The boxes will then be passed on to and distributed by the registered charity SOS (Support Our Soldiers), who are based in Bingley West Yorks.

How You Can Help???

Come along or even better still, organise a club run over to the meeting point @ The Coniston in Idle, bringing along as many filled shoe boxes as possible. There will be refreshments available.

The Idle Trike and Bikers will be busy collecting boxes on the day too having a run from (The Junction, Gain Lane, Thornbury, Bradford @ 12 noon) calling in at various pubs on route collecting boxes that have been donated by the various pub patrons.

This Collection is not restricted to to 2 wheelers, if you know of a pub, club or organisation that may be interested in this project, please tell them about it, if they cannot get the boxes to Idle, we can help out by arranging collections either by ourselves or clubs that will be passing en route on the day..

Something different...

Over the weekend of February 26th -28th 2010 Southport Cruisers are again holding their "Rally in a Chalet " held at Pontins at Southport its a brilliant weekend from the comfort! of your own chalet 5 bands/comedy show/ trade stands/ bars / use of pontins facilities etc etc ..this will cost you

£13 for the rally ticket - per person
£17 for the chalet - per person

Tickets go on sale from this Saturday (25th October) and go very quickly - I have already got 9 Yorkies booked in for this , so if you want to join us ring me asap please on 07974952237.

Please don't forget to send in your nominations for the Yorkies most outstanding member (as advertised in Little Clatter) - I've not received any nominations yet so please send me an e mail for this.

I have managed to get just 1 more double room for the dinner dance at The Cairn - that is the hotel filled now , so if you want to join the 88 other members phone me very soon.
