VSOC proposal

Hi to all in Centre 5.

Some of you are already aware that during the last year there has been a growing sense of dissatisfaction in some centres of the VSOC that there are too many non qualifying bikes being ridden to rallies and on rideouts. As a solution to this, Alan Johnson (Centre 14 Rep) put forward a proposal at the national AGM. This proposal is to be decided on by the membership and not in a block vote by the centre reps. After a long debate it was decided to put the proposal in clatter along with a statement from our chairman outlining the thoughts behind it. At this point in time all he wants to know is whether or not YOU want to hold a referendum on the subject.

Every member has a right to express their individual opinion and it is to be sent directly to either Malcolm Bland or Janet Butterworth. I have already received a large number of Centre 5 views on this and these will be sent in block to Malcolm Bland - so you can also send them to me, to go with other Centre 5 views.

Centre 5 has expressed very strong views that the VSOC should keep the 'once a member' rule and it should not be changed, so it is of utmost importance that your views are heard, whether to hold a referendum on this or finally put this topic to bed.

You should be receiving the next edition of clatter by this week. If you have any questions on this please try to attend our meetings or you can phone me at home.

Terry (Yorkies rep)
