first meeting at the Flying Horse
Tuesday was the first meeting at the Flying Horse at Ossett and there was a brilliant turnout. Whether this was the buffet, curiosity about the venue or just pre-Christmas good spirits isn't clear but there was still plenty of room at the inn so the move should be a good one.
An excellent buffet was laid on by Steve and Paula (our hosts) and they even provided take-away boxes for the leftovers. John and Julie put on a fantastic raffle and even the bar staff bought tickets although it was a bit worrying when they had the first ticket out of the hat!
With the company including original founder members to joiners of the last few months the Rep's briefing was a lively affair including discussion of the new proposals although all of the comments were against with nobody raising any views in favour (anybody who missed it will be getting details of the proposal in the Clatter shortly). The older members (membership not age) took this as an opportunity to regale the newer members with stories of when 50 at a rally in a field with no facilities was a major triumph.
An excellent night!
